Do you celebrate Galentine’s Day? My daughters and I have celebrated a version of a girls’ day since they were little. So when our Idol Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation coined the term Galentine’s Day in an episode, we were all, After all, what’s not to love about celebrating female friendship!
Speaking of friendships, today I am participating in a blog hop organized by my friend Pasha Accardi from Pasha at Home. Everyone shares their favorite ways of celebrating Valentine’s/Gale tine’s day. If you are popping over from my fellow Michigander Kim @ Cottage in the Mitten, a warm wintery welcome!
Cocktails for Celebrating Galentine’s Day
Our previous Galentine celebrations have ranged from elaborate to quick meet-ups. The one thing they always have in common is a pretty cocktail. In fact, we have two rules for our Galentine’s Day cocktails. They need to be pretty, and they need to be PINK!
Today, I am sharing a couple of our favorite Galentine’s Day Cocktails:
Sparkling Vodka Limeade Highball
This cocktail is very easy, and since I like Vodka, one we make for several occasions. Mix this cocktail in the glass.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Vodka
- 2 oz Sparkling Limeade
- 1/2 oz Grenadine
- Ice
- Pink sugar for the rim of the glass.
Directions
Using a High Ball glass, rim the edge with colored sugar. I used a festive pink here.
Add the Ice and Vodka
Next, pour in the Sparkling Limeade.
Top off with the Grenadine, add garnish (optional), and stir.
This is perfect for brunch, baby showers, and even a book club.
Variations
Add 1 1/2 oz of Tart Cherry Juice for a Cherry Vodka High Ball- garnish with lime and a cherry.
Try using Mango flavored Vodka and 1 oz of orange liqueur for a more tropical version.
Giggle Juice Punch
- INGREDIENTS
- 750 ML bottle of Champagne (cold)
- 3 cups of Pink Lemonade
- 1 cup of Lemon-Lime soda
- 1 cup of Vodka
- 2 cups of sliced strawberries
- Large Lemon, sliced into half-moons
- Ice
- Sugar for rimming the glasses
Mix the ingredients together and serve cold. Serves 8.
